Abnormal Hurricanes

"Forecasters had expected a busy hurricane year. The number of storms varies cyclically with conditions in the North Atlantic, and period of high activity that started in 1995 is expected to last 25 to 40 years.

Hurricane Jeanne ripped into the east coast of Florida...marking the first time four hurricanes have hit the state in a single year since record-keeping began in 1851." Link

New record of 8 hurricanes in August. Link

"Weather records are being set all the time now. We're in an era of unprecedented extreme weather events," McCarthy said. Link

It's getting crazier. On the radio this week I heard further discussion about how abnormal these hurricanes are. Some of these hurricanes are moving in unpredictable fashion. They're fairly unpredictable to begin with, but they're making some moves that no forecast model expects. The radio host mentioned at least one that headed out over a large desert area, which the host said was unheard of for hurricanes paths.

Crazy is getting crazier.

Make you wonder eh? What does it all mean...
Cheers,

Were you there at the Terrys for the big conversation we all had? If so, then maybe they're right. If not, ask me about it.

Okay, Aleah, I'm asking you now: What was discussed? I wasn't there for any such conversation, I think I arrived after it was done.

Well, they were talking about the "end of the world" so to speak and looking at all the events going on in the world and they were saying how they thought that the time spoken of in the Bible is now. They were talking about all these events, I can't remember them though, but stuff going on with the States, Canada and the rest of the world and how the world is just getting, pretty much crazy. I hope you understand what I'm talking about because I can't really remember a whole lot right now....I'm too tired! Hope that helps! :)

Well, remember that as recently as 500 years ago a comet was concern for worry.

People have been taking unusual nature events as warnings of evil to come for thousands of years.

Aleah said...

Yeah yeah, Mike. I wasn't talking about JUST the hurricanes. Sheesh!

Jamie A. Grant said...

Now, now. Mike just likes to poke holes in my idea that we may see the end times in our lifetime. I do the same for his ideas about overpopulation so fair's fair, right?

Mike said...

Heh. Yeah.

I don't believe you've given me a cut off date yet, Jamie. When do I get to say "I told you so?"

Mike said...

Oh, and Aleah, I wasn't responding specifically to your comment.

But yeah, I don't think things are getting crazier, either. Genocides and vicious exploitation and terrible natural disasters (Pompei, anyone?) are pretty much par for the course in human history.

"Par for the course," Mike? Then what does "unprecedented extreme weather events" mean? As your personal opinion that's all well and good but the professionals that I quoted think otherwise. Not that they link it to any end-times mumbo jumbo, which I vaguely did.

Re: I Told You So
You can say that to me on my death bed, Mike. And I can say that to you after we're both dead but I hope I won't have to. :)

Y'know, I had communion at chuch yesterday and the sermon was about the purposes for communion and the different aspects that different churches emphasize.

The main reason that we do this is to remember Jesus' sacrifice, and we're supposed to do it regularly until Jesus returns. I suppose some would see end-times stuff as useless Christian debate or fairly tale, but every month I do something that intentionally reminds me of Jesus' soon return. Seems to me if God reminds us about it all the time, than it makes enough sense to speak about it myself in blog posts such as this.

Well then, my apologies, Mike. :)

Ha, ha, ha. "THE END IS NEAR!" Ha, ha, ha.

Sorry, some things just tickle my funny bone. I guess if that's what you need to bring you closer to God then go for it, things are definitely CrAzY, and getting cRaZiEr.

Good one Abe, Aleah, and Mike. Like Abe mentioned on his blog, laughing is healthy so thank-you Jamie for looking out for my health.

No one will know the day or the hour of the end of the world, so to theorise that it may be coming soon because of hurrican activity is absolutly bonkers.

Thanks for the chuckles though!!!11!11 lol rofl.....
