Richard's Blog
Welcome, Richard, to my blogging circle. You were able to hold out for years but I finally broke you. Bwahahaha!
On a more serious note, can anyone tell me where a good look out point is around here? I would like to take my Little Brother on a (short) fall hike to some high point that overlooks London. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There are high points that overlook London?
yeah, I don't know of any high points either. This isn't like Wawa with Scenic High Falls. As far as I know, the "hiking trails" following the Thames are as good as it gets unless you want to venture out of town. Call Tourism London to find out more about your municipality (661-5000). ~L
hmmm... there is a spot in west london, that overlooks byron when you drive into town. i don't know if it's near/on col. talbot road or something around there - sorry, i'm no byronian, but at night, the view is pretty breathtaking, whatwith the lights and whatnot :) other than that, I don't really know of any cliffs in the city. If you're looking for a nice fall hike, you can try westminster ponds, behind the fire station on wellington south, or go to fanshawe lake. Another beautiful easy hiking place is catfish creek conservation area near aylmer - they are one of the "oldest" forests in this area, it's a bc-style forest, not a regular ontario style forest. apparently it's the highest ground in the area. or something. but it's nice.
I say you climb the rocky stairs of One London Place and look over the city. hehe I have no idea
yo i think you should go to a place with alot of hills and trees and climb up there or go to a high appartment building so you can see everything. Personally i would try to get a hanglider that way i don't have to worry about walking all over the city and it's high hahah just kidding sweets. Tara White
If you're specifically looking to see London in all its glory, what about that building by Victoria park? You know the one I'm talking about? Maybe not. You go all the way up and onto the roof...All I remember is going up there on New Year's Eve so maybe it's just a once a year thing...then again, now that I think about it, I think it may be open during the Christmas season too see the "breathtaking" twinkle lights. Boy, this made alot more sense in my head. ~L
Two Places: The first is the tobbogganing hill at the southwest corner of Wharncliffe and Commissioners (something-or-other park). The second is to go straight out Byron Baseline till you get just past Byron. There's a hill on the left that we also use for Tobbogganing...climb it.
uuuh.... the building near victoria park that you can go up? you mean city hall?
