Birthdays & Camping

Tara's twenty-third birthday is next week on Wednesday May 3rd. (And it's Candace's birthday too, natch.) My twenty-eighth birthday is coming up on May 16th. To celebrate, Mrs. Terry has invited a bunch of us to the Terry house in Fingal on Saturday May 13th at 6:00 pm. All of the former FCCC youth are invited, plus anyone from Open Door that reads this, plus my own family. If you're reading this and you fall into one of those categories, please e-mail me to confirm if you're coming. I'll give a ride to anyone that needs it.

Per the comments in my previous post, I am now planning on going camping with the former FCCC youth on Friday-Sunday July 7-9 at the place we went to last time, that Mennonite camp. I'm going regardless of how many people we have but you do need to send me an e-mail sometime soon if you're planning on coming so that I can book the site.

And in case you missed it, I'm out of town from Saturday April 29th until late on Sunday May 7th. So long, suckers!

Hello from Florida! It's 2:00 pm here and I'm just about to take apart my grandparents computer and start packing the U-Haul. My dad and I are starting our road trip later tonight.

I'm working off of 3.5 hours of sleep from last night and I almost puked when our flight landed in Tampa due to turbulence. Where's my Red Bull?

Ma and I both think the "Where's my Red Bull" is weird coming from you. What's with that? Don't tell me your turning into a need-caffeine-to-function-or-I'm-ruined kind of person (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Have a fun and safe trip with Pa. Enjoy the West Coast!!!!!!! ~L

Hey Jamie, count us in for the birthday party on Saturday the 13th (p.s. Melissa's birthday is the 7th). Also, I'll definitely be up for camping, Melissa and the baby are undecided.

My dad and I crossed into BC earlier today. We met my grandfather at the border to get the customs stuff figured out.

The trip was great. We did a fifty hour stretch for the first leg, stayed in a hotel and then did the final 13 hours the next day through the mountains of South Dakota. All in all, it was a pretty easy trip and it took much less time than we expected. As near as I can tell, it takes a maximum of 3 days of semi-constant driving to get from any point in the USA to any other point, excluding the freak states.

My Top 5 Experiences:
5) Going through the southern states and listening to black gospel radio and old timey preachah radio.
4) Going from an altitude of 0 feet up to a height of 2500 feet in the span of only a few minutes.
3) Waterfalls beside the road, created by snow melting in the mountains.
2) Mount Rushmore (We took a short detour.)
1) Seeing three genuine tornados in the span of five minutes.

It's Saturday now, almost exactly a week after I first arrived in Florida. I haven't had a day off yet as we continued to help my grandparents move in. Yesterday, we hit IKEA (along with 7 other furniture stroes) and I spent yesterday afternoon and this morning putting together furniture. As much as I dislike the quality of IKEA stuff, the store itself was an immersing experience.

I fly back home sometime tomorrow afternoon, though I'm not sure exactly when that is. I'm currently visiting with various cousins at Carina's home. We'll have salmon and steak later. Hopefully I'll be going to see MI:3 later tonight with my dad, and that will be the only fun vacation thing that I will have done for myself this week.

Ciao!

I spent most of Sunday either in the airport or on a plane but everything went smoothly and I arrived home at around 12:30 am on Monday morning. I caught a few Zzzs and I'm off to work shortly. After catching up on mountains of work today, I will have the first baseball game of the season with my church league so I can't miss that. I need a vacation form my vacation.

It's good to be back!
